Considering building a new home?

Take a look at structured cabling or smart wiring and what it can do for you.

So what exactly is structured cabling and smart wiring?
The Hills Home Hub delivers and distributes data, phone, video, audio and TV signals using the latest in data and TV cables from a centrally located enclosure to specially configured wall outlets in any room of your choice. Structured cabling using the Hills Home Hub is preferably planned at the same time as your electrical wiring. The central enclosure is home to the devices that enable the delivery and distribution of these signals. It also houses the security system central controller. An ideal location for the central enclose is a garage or utility room.

Future planning to which rooms you would like to access data, phone, video ect should be considered, as the use of a room could change over time from a nursery to a study.

Hills Home Hub's variety of functions provide you with the following attributes:

Video Distribution
Video surveillance pictures are sent from the outdoor security camera via the Hills Home Hub cables, through the central enclosure to a selected television in any room of your home. Benefits to the home user include supervision of children playing in backyard, from another part of the house.

Phone & Intercom
With the Hills Home Hub, there is no need to get up and physically answer the door. Simply pick up the remote to select the television channel programmed for the front gate camera to see who is there. A telephone intercom system with gate or front door release feature can be used to send a signal via the Hills Home Hub cables, through the central enclosure, to release the electric latch on the gate or front door to allow the visitor in.

You can also use your telephone system as an intercom speaker to speak to someone in another room, just by pressing a button.

Computer Network
Access the internet via a centralised server model to surf the net from any computer in the home. To print a page, the signal travels via the Hills Home Hub cables, through the central enclosure, and the page that has been selected will be printed.

Multi-Room Entertainment
Enjoy multi-room viewing and controlling of DVDs, pay TV and VCR on any television in a home whilst having all video equipment in the one location with the Hills smart entertaining system.

How is this achieved?

Upon selecting the DVD to watch, press play on the remote control, the infrared signal travels via the Hills Home Hub cables, through the central enclosure, to the Hills modulator and then from there to the DVD player in the entertainment area. The DVD will send a signal back to the television that has been selected to view the movie.

Distributed Music
Enjoy superior stereo sound in any part of the house with the Hills Home Music wall or ceiling mounted speakers. A CD in the home entertainment area sends music signals via the Hills Home Hub cables, through the central enclosure to the rooms in which the speakers are located. Set the volume level independently in each room using the volume control.

Home Security
Enjoy peace of mind knowing the house is secure when no one is home. Signals travel from detection devices such as door, window, interior motion and smoke sensors via the Hills Home Hub cables to the Hills security system controller. In the event of an unauthorised entry, the Hills security system controller will call to report a burglary or fire situation.
